Peranakan Inspired Modern Design for this Walk Up Apartment turned Loft.

This project is located in the chic district of JooChiat Road. We planned the entire apartment as a singular long living space that allowed for light and air to flow through easily. Rooms were accessed directly along this long living space. This also allowed us to make full use of the high ceiling height available to create a dramatic living and dining space.

The apartments aesthetic revolved around infusing existing site elements of interest, an acquiredPeranakan nostalgia and a clean line Modern aesthetic. Old school hand painted floor tiles are laid alongside Italian designer concrete tiles. Another fine example of this is the application of blue-white ceramics of yesteryears paired with an otherwise streamline & clean cut modern kitchen design. All in all, the overall outcome of this apartment is something refreshingly unique but not entirely unfamiliar.
